Our Clients

Carvel Solutions has worked with many leading blue-chip companies in a variety of sectors providing Business and IT analysis and design skills under the realms of enterprise architecture.

Financial and Insurance Sector:

  • Platform Home Loans (a subsidiary of the Britannia Group)
As part of an overall business strategy review, our role was to completely review and redesign the enterprise IT architecture and impart best practices in developing IT strategies and architecture descriptions.
We established an overall IT architecture based on service-oriented architecture (SOA) concepts and web services), and established an enterprise service bus (ESB) to link together a number of applications all using or providing a set of services.
We also redesigned the processes for the new IT facility in defining, designing, implementing, operating, and maintaining information system (IS) services, delivered and managed using best practices such as ITIL.
Our achievement was to establish effective and slick analysis and design practices, as well as ensure the IT department is now considered as a unit delivering business value. The success of the engagement is reflected in the influence exerted on the Britannia Group, who regard Platform as a shining example of fully utilising and exploiting modern web services within an SOA, and modern practices for managing and delivering those services.
  • PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) Global
PWC-Global is the unit that manages the overall brand and policies of PWC and its many country-specific partners, and sets the overall architecture and strategy for IT within the group.
Our remit was to help determine the appropriate enterprise architecture framework and key artefacts to supplement the current take-up of the Zachman enterprise architecture framework, and demonstrate the benefit of some of the Carvel value adds now incorporated into the RedCasket architecture framework.
Having demonstrated them successfully, PWC commissioned Carvel to document many of the top level processes and business objects using the framework, and which are now a key part of the PWC Enterprise Architecture description.
We were also engaged in many ancilliary activities such as helping to define and review the Security architecture, and review various technical architectures including the data architecture and the compliance architecture, developed after the introduction of the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation.
